FREE COMEDY WRITING WORKSHOP AT PVCC OCT. 24
Charlottesville, Va. – Piedmont Virginia Community College presents a Comedy Writing Workshop with writer and promoter Ty Cooper Friday, Oct. 24, from 1-4 p.m. on the Main Stage of the V. Earl Dickinson Building. The workshop is free and open to everyone who wants to add more humor into life.
Using clips from television series, lecture and writing exercises, Cooper will present styles of writing for situational comedy and introduce techniques to help participants develop their unique comedic voice.
Cooper is perhaps best known in Charlottesville for bringing national comedy acts to local stages as part of his “United Nations of Comedy Tour” and most recently the “Comedy with a Taste of Jazz” series. He has promoted over 800 shows since beginning his work in the entertainment industry in 1993.
Cooper is also the author of several short comedies produced at Charlottesville’s Live Arts theatre and a three-act play commercially produced at Portsmouth, Virginia’s Willett Hall.
