Balloons and Santa Kick off Christmas at Universal Studios Florida
Orlando, Fla.- While earlier this year during Thanksgiving people were able to experience the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloons on NBC. Now, just inside Universal’s Universal Studios Florida, guests can get up close to the balloons and meet the World-Famous Santa Claus and friends.
While guests walk into the Universal CityWalk, they will have a choice to go left to Islands of Adventure or Right to Universal Studios Florida. Universal Studio Florida is where guests can see the Macy’s balloons and holiday celebration. Right when walking into the park guests are greeted by a giant wreath that shows that it is the holiday celebration in the park. After going through the entrance, go through to the copycat NBC studios and turn right, and guests will be greeted to the holiday celebration with giant parade balloons. The colorful lights and Christmas music blasting makes it a sensory overload. It is like having a Santa’s sleigh as a party bus. The first balloons that are seen are a giant Minion balloon and a stocking with a giant stuffed bear balloon.
Guests are able to meet some characters from Universal movies and people who marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Another wonder that is seen in the celebration is some floats from the parade. One of the floats that are seen is Gru’s Car from Despicable Me decked out with Christmas Decorations and some of the reindeer that pull Santa’s sleigh to end off the Parade. After seeing those, guests are able to see The Giant Gingy from Shrek balloon and then pass by the Macy Star balloons.
After those balloons, guests get to meet the big man himself. The one and only Santa Claus. Guests do have to keep a distance from Santa so he doesn’t get the risk of catching Covid-19, because we all need him for Christmas and don’t want 2020 to be the year without Santa Claus.
After a nice discussion with Santa, guests can meet Mrs. Claus and a NutCracker soldier. Upon leaving the celebration area guests are able to walk through a snowy area. Which is a way to top off welcoming the Christmas Season.
